In this two-hour workshop, we're going to help photographers (or really, anyone!) gain the basics of financial literacy that many of us never learned in school. These financial foundations will give you the confidence to know your personal/family's financial situation, take some of the fear out of money, demystify budgeting and investing, and help you make a plan to get the most out of what you make -- whether it's a little or a lot!

When we graduated from college and got married, we had $27,000 in student loan debt -- about what we were each making in a year. Yet a little over two years later, we had paid off 100% of our debt and bought our first home. Less than three years after that, we bought our second home. We were able to do these things not because we were making hundreds of thousands of dollars every year since then, but because we used the power of budgeting (and a good bit of discipline) to stretch our money further than most of our peers.

• Why everyone needs a budget - We've met plenty of folks who were skeptical about budgeting. But not only does it bring freedom and reduce stress, but it's impossible to take control of your financial life (or predict your business's income) without a personal budget.
• Budgeting fundamentals - We're going to go over what it looks like to live life on a budget, and the easiest ways to build your budget from the ground up.
• Paying off debt - Debt is basically the cost of not having money. It can also ruin your life if you don't keep it under control! While not ALL debt is bad, most of it is, and we're going to discuss the fastest way to get out from under piles of student-loan, car, or credit card debt.
• Investing made easy - You do not need a degree in finance to invest well for retirement. In fact, you don't need to know anything about finance or stock trading! What most advisors don't what you to know is how easy it is to "set it and forget it", and have the confidence that you can retire well one day.

Meet your instructors: Hunter and Sarah Sheldon! We're a husband-and-wife, professional wedding photography team based in central Virginia, on the east coast of the US. We've been photographing weddings for nearly a decade, and consistently bring in $200,000+ per year in our photography business. We've photographed weddings and engagement sessions all over the US, and even internationally! And we love what we do, every day, working with incredible couples and capturing beautiful wedding days. 

On top of that, we're educators, and our goal is to help photographers build strong foundations in both their businesses and their personal lives, so they can run profitable and sustainable photography businesses! We've been mentoring photographers for years toward success they could only imagine, and have personally helped newer photographers build profitable businesses, quit their jobs, and pursue their dreams through our coaching and our workshops.
